shower curtain pattern

I need to make a new shower curtain as one of the final touches to our complete renovation (whew!) Does anyone have a pattern that they have made from an original shower curtain? If I had the curtain, I could make a pattern myself Also, what fabrics work best for shower curtains? I would like something close to the original fabric. Suggestions?

Thanks!

may have one

We have a '67 24' Tradewind. Don't know if that is the same shower curtain or not.

As far as I know they have the same bathroom for all models for that year. Do you have a pattern?

For shower curtain fabric, consider nylon or a nylon blend. It looks better and most importantly dries quicker than plastic. My wife made one for an SOB that we had. She also sewed pennies in the bottom seam so it wouldn't blow around while showering.

Or you could use washers if you wanted to save a few cents. Sorry...that was bad.

Got one too

If T.H.'s doesn't work , I believe my curtain to be original (yellow vinyl) ,so let me know if you need a pattern off it. Got tabs and dome snap fasteners ??

Thanks to everyone who poasted! Tim, I would appreciate it if you could send me the pattern. Let me know if you want some $ to cover postage etc. Also, I am not in a real big hurry as our baby is winterized, however I do have two weeks off at Christmas which would be a good time for me to make the curtain so we are ready in the spring.

Someone asked if I knew where to get the curtain hooks and I was figuring on purchasing them from Inland RV but what are the other things mentioned? I'm not sure about them, what are they?

Thanks again everyone.

Lana,

Our 67 TW came without curtain hooks or tracks. We made the hooks shown. The The mirror hook (Ace Hardware) is attached with stainless pop revits, and the loops come from Office depot. This curtain won't slide, but it is no problem to pull it asside and step in. Rhonda made the pattern by first hanging the cheapest curtain she could find, and then cutting it to shape.

There isn't anything I like about the picture processing in this forum. I will see if i can get it to work.

I would love to see a picture of your original '67 shower curtain.
Mine is yellow vinyl with birds on it and I believe it to be original too. (Has to be!)
It's complete with all hardware and is a very unusual shape.
It's in perfect shape. Hard to believe.

pattern

We are replacing our curtain now and if I can find some large paper I will trace the pattern. It may take a week or so to get out to you. Leave me your address. Email me at jfsjr@charter.net

The fasteners you'll need are the little 'tabs' made of plastic that get sewn in the upper edge and slide in the ceiling track.(I think Inland has them -or they come up occasionally on Ebay). You also need 1 or 2 "dome " snap fasteners (got to look at the curtain again ).These are the same as on the end of the plastic check strap holding back your sliding pocket door.
I'll try to post some detail photos this week for you and also HEIDI .
